CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS TESTING LABORATORY.
At SM Morris, it is our company’s quality policy to endeavour to design, produce and maintain high quality roads and pavement construction materials for the Civil Engineering industry.
We utilise our specialised modern sampling and testing laboratories to continually analyse, control and confirm compliance with the relevant standards and specifications set out in the National Roads Authority’s “Specification for Highways Works” and all its relevant referenced Irish, British and European standards. We also use our facility to improve and develop all our methods and procedures.
Our main laboratory is situated at our primary quarry in Ballinclare, Co. Wicklow with our second lab located in Bromley, Kilpedder, Co. Wicklow. In these facilities, our qualified and trained technical teams work in conjunction with the quarry manager and plant operators to make a full range of products, including aggregates, unbound granular sub grades and sub bases, selected granular fill materials, a full range of bituminous mixtures and a comprehensive selection of concrete mixes.
In association with the lab, we also carry out a range of site sampling and testing to check and verify different aspects of the transportation, laying and compaction processes.
We currently operate to a Quality Management System in accordance with the guidelines set out in the internationally accepted ISO 17025 and ISO 9002 standards.
We are available to our customers and clients to assist and support them with any technical information or data they require in relation to the use of any of our selection of produce on their sites and contracts.
