PROJECT NAME: Killarney Road Overbridge Scheme

ENGINEER: Wicklow County Council and Roughan & O'Donovan
This project essentially involved the reconstruction and upgrading of a two kilometre stretch of the N11 National Primary Route to current dual carriageway standard and the construction of a new motorway type interchange to replace a number of previously at grade junctions.
The principal elements of the project were as follows:
- A new bridge over the N11 constructed while maintaining two way traffic on the N11 at all times
- Reconstruction and upgrading of 2km of dual carriageway & 5km of side roads
- Extensive accommodation works for landowners including several km of masonry walls
- Relocation of 1km of arterial water main
